Temple Crucible Incense Burner | All-Purpose Altar Burner for Resin, Smudge & Stick Incense
Every ritual deserves a vessel worthy of it.
The incense burner is one of the most used and least considered objects on an altar. It sits at the center of the practice, holding the flame, catching the ash, anchoring the ritual, and yet most burners are designed as afterthoughts. The Temple Crucible was built from a different premise entirely: that the vessel matters, that form and function are not separate considerations, and that something you reach for every day should be as intentional as the practice it supports.
With its short foot, sharp curves, and generous proportions, the Temple Crucible is designed to hold presence in any space, on an altar, a coffee table, a windowsill, or a desk. It burns everything. Bamboo-core stick incense rests on the included pebble, which catches ash cleanly and keeps the surface clear. Cone incense burns directly on the crucible. For smudge bundles or palo santo, the included plate sets on the wide rim above a votive candle placed on the base, the raw unglazed surfaces holding everything in place while you adjust the smolder to your preference. Joss incense, the kind without a bamboo core, burns beautifully when the crucible is filled with rice, salt, or sand. Resin and compressed incense burn on a charcoal disc over sand. Rope incense burns on sand or directly on the base. Incense powder, one of the most visually beautiful and least accommodated forms, finds a natural home here, the generous size and minimal glazing allowing the clay itself to frame the ritual.
